Home Birth Story: Rowen’s Birth

My daughter Rowen was born at home into a kid’s pool. As the contractions grew stronger in my womb, a big summer storm was brewing ouside. It was quiet in my bedroom, we had candles burning, and I got in the water, I lay there in silence waiting.  Just as the storm broke and the rain started, my body started. We pushed so hard, Ro and I.  I checked to see if I could feel her and she was high up there, I could feel her little head and her fuzzy hair… The water was a god send, it was sooo nice to be able to move.  It was Thundering hard and I was flying around in the pool screaming loud.  It was elemental :) After about 10 life affirming p’s She shot out of me and into the water and I jumped up and grabbed her and she was crying hard!  I talked to her and welcomed her, poured some water over her body and she just chilled right out.  I offered my breast and she latched, 1 minute .

It was as close to perfect as a birth will probably get!
